Nuru International is a social venture dedicated to fighting the greatest humanitarian crisis of our generation: extreme poverty.
Our mission is to eradicate extreme poverty by holistically empowering rural communities to achieve self-sufficiency and inspiring the developed world to confront the crisis of extreme poverty.
How do we do this? Nuru mentors local leaders in the principles of service leadership to mobilize their community into groups. Together we identify the factors contributing to the cycle of extreme poverty in their community.
Our Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team scours both the social and private sectors to identify the most effective interventions in our five areas of development:
Nuru coordinates these interventions alongside local leaders and the community groups, acting as a general contractor of proven poverty solutions. Ongoing measurement and third-party evaluation keep us updated on our progress, and income-generating businesses integrated into our program areas provide revenues that will make our project self-sustaining.
It's a big job. That's why we need you.
Be hope. Be light. Be Nuru.
